Shaheen Shah Afridi, captain of the Lahore Qalandars, says that his rehab at the NHPC is going well.

The eighteenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to begin now that all six teams have been selected in the recent draft.

Shahid Afridi, one of the most important players over the past seven seasons, will not play in the upcoming season.

Since the first season, the Pakistani former all-rounder has played for four of the six PSL teams. In the past seven years, he has played for Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League.

Before the draft, Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi was questioned about the possibility of the former Pakistan captain being associated in any way with the champions.

The left-arm pacer jokingly stated, "You can see Shaheen Afridi if Lala is not here."

The Lahore Qalandars skipper talked about his injury and said that under Najeeb Soomro, his rehab at the National High Performance Center (NHPC) is going great.

The captain of the Lahore Qalanders added that he had never captained a team before, but he always focused on winning games and playing positive cricket.

In the PSL 7 final, the Qalanders defeated the Sultans to become champions for the first time in seven seasons under Shaheen's leadership.

The pacer, on the other hand, will be closely monitored by the franchise as a result of his absence from the Test series against England due to a knee injury sustained during the T20 World Cup final in Australia earlier this month.

The 22-year-old pacer was told to stay off the field after he had his appendix removed earlier this month.

Additionally, the pacer will be absent from the upcoming two Test matches against New Zealand.

During Pakistan's Test series against Sri Lanka in July, the pacer suffered his first knee injury. In October, he resumed playing international cricket at the T20 World Cup.
